Get a permanent NETWORK password for GiD

(GiD versions 7.0 or newer) ONLY FOR MSWINDOWS NETWORKS

Please, follow these steps to get a working Network licence
  1. Install GiD on the server machine in the directory which will be shared among the client machines. This machine should have the 'NetBUI' protocol active.
  2. At the moment let the write permissions active for this directory.
  3. Run GiD from any client machine from this shared directory. This machine should have the 'NetBUI' protocol active, too.
  4. With the information that appears in the Help->Register window (note that the machine name is the name of the server, not the client one), fill the form below . . .
  5. And you'll get Network password.
  6. Enter this password on any client machine, take care that the GiD's shared directory should have write permissions for this client machine, as the password is stored there.
  7. Now you can remove the write permisions of the GiD's shared directory.
  8. Any client machine should be able to run GiD in Profesional mode

  • Enter the Help menu in the Menu Bar of GiD and activate the Register menu item. GiD will display a GiD password dialog box like this:

     

    Use the information displayed in the GiD password dialog box to fill out the form below. The GiD NETWORK password will be displayed immediately after pressing the Send button.
